EEOC Releases 2009 Fiscal Year Performance and Accountability Report — Charges Against Private Employers Continue At High Level
The report shows that over 93,000 charges against private employers filed in 2009 were only slightly lower than the 95,000 charges filed in 2008. The EEOC saw a more than 10 percent increase in the number of ADA charges filed this past year. The EEOC expects to see a further increase as a result of the enactment of the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act of 2008 (GINA).
