Senior Vice President - Underwriting, Management Liability/Employment Practices Liability/Nonprofit Management Liability

Thomas Mathias joined Monitor Liability Managers, Inc. in 1993 as a Senior Underwriter for Directors and Officers Liability. In 1996, he assumed the duties of Underwriting Manager with responsibility for Directors and Officers Liability business written in the eastern half of the United States.

Tom's responsibilities have grown since he first joined the company. First in 1998, when he assumed full responsibility for Monitor’s Management Liability product line and later the Nonprofit Management Liability product line. Then in 2010, Tom took charge of the Employment Practices Liability department. 

Tom and his team forged Monitor's relationship with the Biotechology Industry Organization (BIO) to become a BIO Business Solutions Partner, providing executive liability products to meet the unique needs of the biotechnology industry. Tom also was instrumental in the development of the Management Liability Select product in 2005.

Prior to joining Monitor, he worked at Crum & Forster Managers, Inc. underwriting Lawyers Professional Liability Insurance for the Massachusetts Bar Association and Accountants Professional Liability Insurance for an exclusive AICPA Program.

He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Finance, Investment and Banking as well as Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
