President & Chief Executive Officer

In 1992, Douglas Powers joined Monitor Liability Managers, Inc. as a founding partner and Vice President of Underwriting. He became President and Chief Executive Officer in 1997.

His career began in commercial banking with First Interstate Bank. He later joined Great American Insurance Company, underwriting Directors and Officers Liability Insurance. Prior to joining Monitor, Doug worked for a specialty insurance management company owned by R.K. Carvill, a London-based reinsurance broker, and at Certain Underwriters at Lloyds of London as Senior Vice President of Underwriting.

He is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) with a degree in Finance from Marquette University.
