The following department descriptions offer a brief view into Monitor's work environment:
Claims/Loss Control
Monitor's Claims Department is responsible for handling a wide range of claims resulting from our product lines. A majority of our claims professionals have obtained their J.D. degrees from accredited law schools. Our Claims Department handles all liability claims, sets reserves, manages losses and manages attorney relationships.
Finance
The Finance Department is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and reporting of all financial transactions. This department also manages the budgeting and planning, establishment and maintenance of sound internal controls, data integrity and analysis, risk management needs and communication with our parent company and affiliated companies.
Human Resources
The Human Resources Department at Monitor helps to foster an environment where employees know and understand the value of their contributions. This is an environment where employees know what needs to be done and are rewarded and acknowledged for their efforts. The Human Resources Department is responsible for compensation, staffing, benefits, training and development and employee relations.
Information Technology
Monitor’s Information Technology Department strives to stay on the cutting edge of technology every day. They manage all the information on which the company depends to make sound business decisions. Our systems are designed to manage the data, assist with the analysis and run our company as efficiently as possible. Our programmers are exposed to a variety of technical products including Delphi, Java, XML, HTML, Microsoft's SQL Server, Microsoft's Windows 2000 Operating System and more.
Marketing Communications
Our Marketing Communications Department manages Monitor’s marketing communications, public relations and advertising efforts. Their goal is to develop and deliver a consistent brand message and image through effective use of all marketing channels, including print and electronic materials. This department supports Monitor’s business strategies and objectives and works with management to develop strategic communications that both support existing producers and assist in obtaining new business.
Producer Development
Monitor’s Producer Development Department is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with our brokers and agents. They set goals for business development and travel extensively in an effort to support these initiatives.
Underwriting
Our Underwriting Department is organized by product line. Underwriters support the achievement of established department goals related to profit, growth, customer service and broker relationships. Our underwriters work in a fast-paced environment, each day offers a wide variety of subjective underwriting opportunities. Underwriters often travel for face-to-face meetings with brokers.
